LCA crime of the week wanted sex offender cold cases

In 1984 a group of local citizens and business people came together to form Crime Stoppers of Ouachita in Northeast Louisiana. We are a non-profit, volunteer organization. Over the years Crime Stoppers has been credited with providing information that has aided police in solving thousands of local crimes and recovering over $3,000,000 in stolen property. By financially rewarding tipsters and by providing three 24-hour, easily accessible ways for people to anonymously inform the police, Crime Stoppers removes the two main reasons individuals don’t report information about a crime: fear of retaliation and an unwillingness to get involved.

A Message From Detective Jeff Gilbert
Crime Stoppers Coordinator

I have been employed with the Monroe Police Department since 1995. I started my career working in the Patrol Division as a Patrolman. I have since worked in the Criminal Intervention Bureau serving on both the Special Neighborhood Action Program (S.N.A.P. Team) and Jump Team (Street Crimes Unit) for several years. During my time on the Jump Team, I gained experience in managing informants who provided information about various criminal activities. Before being assigned as the Crime Stoppers Coordinator, I worked in the Detective Division investigating a variety of crimes. My previous work experience has proven to be beneficial for my current position as Crime Stoppers Coordinator.
